Annapurna Circuit with Migrated Monks
A 11-day conscious journey around the Annapurna Circuit, through Tilicho Lake and over Thorong La. We do not walk to conquer the mountains. We walk to notice them, and ourselves.
5,416 m
More than a trek
The Annapurna Circuit is a journey through changing landscapes, cultures, altitude, silence, and ultimately, yourself.
With Migrated Monks, we want to experience the Circuit not as a destination to complete, but as a journey to slow down, observe, connect, and feel.
Along the way we create space for breath awareness, mindful walking, gentle yoga, and quiet moments. These are not separate from the trek. They are how we experience the mountains more deeply.
Trek at a glance
A journey within the journey
Eight reasons this trek is different.
Walk among giants
Views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu and Machapuchare. The land changes from green valleys to rock, ice and snow.
The Himalaya in winter
In mid-December the mountains are quieter and the air is sharper. Winter asks us to move with more awareness and respect.
Tilicho Lake
One of the highest lakes in the world, at about 4,900 m. The way is hard, and that is part of what makes it mean something.
Cross Thorong La
At 5,416 m, this is the high moment of the trek. It is about patience, breath, and taking one step at a time.
Himalayan culture
Monasteries, prayer flags, temples, local homes and small teahouses. We pause, listen and meet the people of the region.
Breath, yoga, silence
Gentle breath awareness, mindful walking, short yoga and quiet time, woven into every day. Kept easy and safe at altitude.
Nights in mountain villages
Simple homestays, warm meals, good talk, and sometimes only silence beside a fire. These are often the best memories.
A living ecosystem
From forests and rivers to alpine desert. The Annapurna Conservation Area is home to rich plants, birds and wildlife.

Frequently asked
Is the Annapurna Circuit possible in December?
Yes, many trekkers walk it in winter, but it is colder and needs more care. Nights are well below freezing at high camp, and snow can fall on Thorong La and the Tilicho route. We watch the weather every day. If a section is unsafe, your trek leader may change the plan, and we keep buffer days for this.
Will we definitely reach Tilicho Lake and Thorong La?
We plan to, and we prepare for it. But we cannot promise the mountains. Snow, wind, closed lodges or how the group feels can change the route. Safety always comes first, and the decision of the trek leader is final.
How hard is this trek?
It is a difficult trek. Days are long (5 to 11 hours), and you cross a pass at 5,416 m. You do not need to be an athlete, but you need good stamina, steady health and a real preparation routine. Please read the Eligibility section.
Is altitude sickness a risk?
Yes, at this height it can affect anyone. That is why we go slowly, include a rest day in Manang, keep water high, and carry a first-aid kit and oxygen. Tell your guide early if you feel headache, nausea or dizziness. Our breathing practices stay gentle and never forced at altitude.
Where will we stay and what will we eat?
Hotels in Pokhara and simple village homestays and teahouses on the trail. Breakfast and dinner are included, vegetarian with eggs. Lunch is at your own cost. Dal bhat, noodles, soups and pasta are common. Prices rise as you go higher.
Do I need to know yoga or meditation?
No. Everything is beginner-friendly and optional. It is simply a way to feel the mountains more deeply.
What permits do I need?
The Annapurna Conservation Area Permit, and any other local permit needed at the time. We arrange these for you. Please send your ID details when we ask, as permits need exact names.
Is travel insurance really required?
Yes, it is mandatory. It must cover trekking at high altitude and emergency rescue. Rescue and hospital costs are not part of the trek price.
Can I trek if I am travelling solo?
Absolutely. Most of our trekkers come alone and leave with friends. The group is kept small so everyone is seen and cared for.
What if I need to cancel?
See the Cancellation terms above. Seat transfers to a friend are possible, subject to rules.
